I first met Guido back in 1992 at the UIM F.1 Grand Prix of France wich was held  in Chalon –sur- Saone and I could see all his successes as a driver.When some people look at F. 1 powerboat racing they often try and compare it with F. 1 motor racing. In reality they bare very little resemblance, although you can often see similarities in the people involved in both sports.During my career as a photographer, I have been fortunate enough to shoot in both and what I see in Guido Cappellini is a man looking for nothing short of perfection, just like Ron Dennis did when he was involved with the Mc laren F.1 Team.From a tecnica point, Dennis along with John Barnard introduced the first carbon-fibre chassis back in 1981. Cappellini and his DAC rteam have for decades produced raceboats in this material wich, along with the introduction o fan airbag system to ensure the driver’s cockpit wouldn’t sink before the rescue crew could attend has saved countless lives.The fact that Dennis has never won an F.1 World Championship compared to the ten cappellini has won, certanly gives the italian the edge, one thing is certain and that is what these two have accomplished for their sports will go down in legend.
