I’ve known Guido since 1984, I was already racing in F.1, he came from the minor categories, accompained by the reputation of being a very fast but impulsive driver. We have raced together for many years and from a sporting point of view I am certanly the one who knows him the most. I don’t have many friends, and Guido is one of these: a couple of words and a look make us inderstand immediately. We were competitors but friends: the relationship has always been great, even if we were opponents in the race. Ours rivarly was a healthy one, and we still feel willingly today. We are the generation that changed the powerboat; we often found orselves together,  facing for battles against International Federation, or the various promoters, especially for safety. Guido worked hard for this goal, even as hulls builder, I know it well, since  in 1984 I  spent a whole year in hospital after an accident, and I was the only survivor of 5 serious accidents in powerboat racing  during that year. So, I have always been on his side, in the development of the safety capsule and  thanks to all efforts made, nowaday the powerboating  is a different sport, which keeps spectacular and thrill, but where you are much safer.  Thanks to Guido and also to  those  who, like me, contributed with  their experience, by testing innovations. I’ m not talking about Guido as a driver: his 10 titles speak enough, but I can add I’ve always admired his fierce  determination. Guido is extreme, his absolute stubbomness is the secret that made him become the number one. As a driver, as a builder and as a Team manager.
